Description du poste :

* Working under the guidance of the Legal Director of Dispute Resolution and other senior team members to oversee the company's global uninsured disputes (including out-of-court settlements, litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution) across various internal departments.
* Providing strategic legal advice to management and business units on day-to-day dispute-related issues.
* Developing litigation strategies, conducting in-depth legal research, and interpreting relevant statutes, case law, and industry regulations.
* Coordinating with and overseeing external counsel, and representing the company in front of governmental and regulatory bodies, alongside external legal teams.
* Engaging closely with other legal departments, such as compliance, claims, M&A, competition, and contracts, to ensure a unified approach to the company's disputes strategy.
* Collaborating with the company's global agency network to stay informed of potential and ongoing litigation risks and gathering pertinent information efficiently.
* Promoting best practices in dispute resolution and participating in the formulation and evaluation of the company's policies, procedures, and operational practices.
* Leading or supporting assigned special projects, maintaining efficiency and aligning with the company's overarching objectives.

Description du profil :

* Bar qualification.
* Over two years of post-qualification experience in dispute resolution within a top-tier law firm or within the Legal department of a multinational corporation.
* Significant experience in the shipping or maritime industry.
* Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with a keen focus on delivering sharp, business-focused legal advice.
* A team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach, demonstrating resilience under pressure and capable of independently managing cases while keeping management and key stakeholders updated.
* Prior in-house experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
* Fluency in English, both spoken and written, with strong English legal writing skills; proficiency in French or additional languages is an advantage.
