Organization

You are the Manager of the Hardware Engineering team and report to the CTO. This growing team consists of two electronics and two mechanical engineers. The team’s main responsibilities are the development of electronics and mechanical parts for our real-time test systems, such as I/O interfaces, carrier boards for processing modules, signal conditioning hardware, enclosures, and other mechanical parts.

Core responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the development of electronics and mechanical hardware components with experienced development engineers.
  • Planning and tracking of tasks and projects and required resources according to the company’s technology strategy, and absolute priorities.
  • Collect and write implementation specifications for new hardware architectures, components, and mechanical designs.
  • Lead selected development projects within your team.
  • Ensure the team’s compliance with the development process and related guidelines.
  • Hardware components in the area of responsibility include:
    • Carrier boards for processing modules
    • I/O interfaces such as ADCs, DACs, DIOs, serial transceivers, CAN bus, and ethernet-based protocol interfaces
    • Microcontrollers and FPGAs
    • Signal conditioning like voltage level translation and current measurement
    • Robust, modular, performant, and good-looking enclosures for industrial computers, for lab, rack, and in-vehicle use
    • Mechanical parts for accessories, such as boxes and connector panels
    • Adapters and accessory PCBs
  • Collaboration with partner companies that provide complementary hardware components and/or engineering services.
  • Representation of the team towards other teams, the management, partner companies and customers.
  • Team lead including coaching, professional and personal development of team members.

Job requirements

  • University degrees in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Continuing education in Management is desired.
  • Experienced in technology, and business or project management, including demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team and its members.
  • At least five years of professional experience in electronics development.
  • Experience with mechanical designs and their industrialization.
  • Ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization’s management.
  • High level of independence and reliability.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbally.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit.
