Population Health Insights Lead for Population Health Group (m/f/d) (LSW) - BS – Metropolregion Basel

 



Tasks & Responsibilities:




  • Develop R packages to facilitate the transition from Excel to an R-based modeling approach.
  • Analyze diverse data sources, including real-world data (RWD), population health datasets, and scientific literature, to gather model input parameters.
  • Identify, evaluate, and utilize high-quality epidemiological data to create forecasting models that support strategic decisions in market access and business planning.
  • Assist the team in training and capacity building related to R packages and coding practices.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to integrate treatment impact models into decision-making processes.
  • Drive the continuous transformation of Global Access into an agile, outcome-driven organization by identifying gaps, opportunities, and improvements in patient access strategies.
  • Maintain and manage internal epidemiology and access-related databases and applications at both national and international levels.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, regional offices, and external partners to build strategic synergies.

Required Qualifications:




  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in epidemiology, public health, or a related quantitative field with postgraduate specialization in epidemiology. Alternatively, a medical degree with additional training in epidemiology.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with statistical software such as R or SAS.
  • Deep understanding of epidemiological principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with national and international health statistics, surveillance data, and disease-specific health surveys, including their advantages and limitations.
  • Experience with evidence synthesis techniques, such as meta-analyses.
  • Background in epidemiology or health outcomes research, gained either in an academic setting, the pharmaceutical industry, or a contract research organization (CRO).
  • Expertise in designing, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting epidemiological studies, including health technology assessment (HTA) and real-world data (RWD) research.
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
