MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Encouraging and supporting MSS students to enjoy and make the most of the learning opportunities offered by the school and, specifically, to teach German language.

This is a short term and part time replacement to be filled immediately.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The German teacher will:

* Promote the school-s mission and vision by assisting students, both day and boarding, to discover and develop individual strengths, make powerful, life-long global connections, and be their best selves.
* Contribute to the creation of a caring and inclusive learning environment in which students can flourish, ensuring that each student-s health and well-being are given the necessary priority.
* Embody and promote Collège du Léman-s RISE values of Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence
* Use and develop the existing resources to teach Grade 6 and 7.
* Carry out other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualification

You should possess a relevant university degree and a **teaching qualification**.

 

Experience

You should have experience teaching Language in a classroom setting. It's essential to have experience in addressing the needs of students with diagnosed learning differences in the classroom.

 

Prior Skills and Knowledge

You are a native German speaker or equivalent. You should be proficient in using educational technology to enhance learning. Demonstrating a good rapport with students, being firm yet empathetic and fair, and showcasing strong organisational skills, as evidenced by meeting the requirements of external examination boards, are crucial. Additionally, possessing good verbal and written communication skills is essential.

You should excel at working collaboratively as part of a team. You must have a solid classroom management strategy, and differentiation strategies to accommodate diverse student needs.

 

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

It is important that the post holder is always aware of Child Protection guidelines and observes a professional distance from students whilst still developing effective working and caring relationships.

You understand and embrace the importance of diversity and inclusion and stand against discrimination in any form.

Background investigations and reference checks for the past ten years will be conducted during the selection process.
